Our work is funded through the ECB, grants, and a small number of committed business partners. We’d be nothing without our partners and supporters, and we value every single one.

Whether you’re an individual volunteer, an enthusiastic fundraiser, or a business partner who wants to make a difference, there’s an opportunity for you to join us on our mission to make cricket a force for good.

JOIN THE CRICKET FAMILY

From volunteering and fundraising to sponsoring or joining in at events, there's a place for everyone.

VOLUNTEERING

There are so many benefits to volunteering- here are just a few of the positive outcomes you could see:

  • Give something back to the wider community in Northamptonshire
  • Develop your skills, confidence and communication, working with all types of people
  • Get to know new people and build connections
  • Know that you’re helping and supporting your local cricket club
  • Widen opportunities for young people to play grassroots sport

And, you don’t need to be an experienced player or umpire to get involved.

From first aiders, decorators, safeguarding and ground staff, to scorers, umpires, and social media managers, it takes a village to make cricket happen and we’d love you to join our army of volunteers.

Each year, we recognise the amazing efforts of our game’s unsung heroes through our Cricket Collective Awards, held at The County Ground. Check out our 2025 winners.

To find out more about volunteering, contact your local club or drop us an email.

PARTNERING

Partnering with the Steelbacks Foundation allows organisations to turn community commitment into visible action, backed by a trusted sporting brand and delivered where it matters most.

We’re so grateful for our partners, they’re the difference between good intentions and real impact. They bring funding, skills, resources, credibility and reach that allow programmes like ours to grow. In return, our partners benefit from visible, credible social impact, alignment with wellbeing and practical ways for teams to get involved in communities and grassroots sport. They become part of a shared, authentic story, connecting their brand to something local and important.

Choose to support any of our partnership themes to align with your own business and CSR strategies.

  • Mental health & wellbeing
  • Young people & future skills
  • Cricket participation & inclusion
  • Community connection
  • Sustainability in sport & communities

If you’re interested in partnering with The Steelbacks Foundation, let’s start a conversation.

FUNDRAISING

Cricket can inspire communities, nurture talent, and create opportunities for everyone to thrive. By fundraising for the Steelbacks Foundation, you can help us achieve these goals and make a real difference to grassroots cricket, community programmes, and support for young people.

Organise a charity match, host a quiz night, or run a JustGiving campaign – every pound you raise goes towards creating opportunities for the next generation and fostering a love of cricket in our community.

We’re grateful for every donation to the Steelbacks Foundation and we promise to make sure it’s spent on projects that really make a difference to our communities.

We rely on your generosity to make our work a reality. We couldn’t do what we do without your support.

Our Just Giving page is ready to take your one-off donations.

Any amount, big or small, will go a long way to helping us in our work across Northamptonshire.

Kit Donation Scheme

We are operating a kit recycling scheme to reduce cricket kit going to landfill and promote cricket as a game for everyone by allowing kit to be accessed by those who may find cost a barrier to participation.

The aim is to receive good condition cricket kit from garages and storage spaces that have been cluttered with previously loved kit and equipment and enable others to re-use it.

The first year of the scheme was really successful with some fantastic items donated to us by clubs and individuals, which we were able to pass on to individuals in need.

If you have kit that you no longer use or need then please get in contact with us and we can organise picking this up from you, these items could make a real difference to someone else.

If you need some support with equipment then please reach out and we will see what we have to help.
